Since its construction over a century ago, The Sheldon has housed great thinkers, creators, artists and leaders—all of whom contributed to its evolution into the premier arts destination.

As one of the greatest arts spaces in the country, The Sheldon recognized their need for a new website experience. One that gives appropriate weight to its increased value in our community.

We began researching and understanding The Sheldon's variety of audiences, ensuring each user intent was clearly defined and given direct pathways within the new architecture.

Fragmented and outdated content on The Sheldon site was reevaluated and sorted, creating a hierarchy framework in which every piece of current and future content would have a proper home.

The new visual brand and flexible design approach allows The Sheldon's music, visual art, education and venue rental opportunities to dance to one cohesive rhythm.


Color and typography were carefully curated to deliver functionality without sacrificing brand aesthetic, bringing the new Sheldon brand to life while meeting ADA and proper usability standards.


The new Sheldon experience was nominated for the 2020 Webby Awards and the 2020 St Louis AIGA Design Show. The project was also featured on Crafted with Code, a Wordpress/Webby Award showcase.
